Chilbo (Korean Enameling) Class #6

This week in chilbo I worked with sterling silver wire. I made rings with Rocketman's name and my name in Korean. I have never learned any Korean characters so I trusted Nan to spell our names right. I came home with two beautiful rings, the one of the left is Rocketman's and the one on the right is mine.
Hannah, my Korean girlfriend came over for sleepover. When I showed them to her, she said, "That spells colt" refering to Rocketman's ring. What!!! Sure enough, if just happened that our Korean namecards (business cards) showed up and when I looked at our names in Korean, mine was right but Rocketman's was not.
We had a good laugh about it and I'm not going to tell Rocketman about the mistake. When he returns from Thailand on Sunday, I'll proudly present him with is ring and see if it's the first thing he points out. Hannah did call Nan and I will be making Rocketman's ring again next week.

  1. Whether the Korean spelling is right or not, they are very pretty.

    Love both of your rings.

  3. Beautiful rings!! Too bad about the little error, but at least you now have a reason to make another one. :)
