Maedeup Monday!

This blog has been pretty quite because I am deep in quilt making mode. I have four quilts lined up and have finished two which are ready for my long arm girl to finish. She is booked into June so I have time to finish all four. The first quilt is for the new grandbaby which is due November 9th, the second for my niece, the third for my new daughter-in-law and the fourth for a dear friend.

I haven't sewn a quilt for quite a few years and it felt great to dust off the sewing machine and my rotary cutter. In the meantime, I had been concentrating on everything but from Korean crafts to watercolor painting to sumi-e painting. If you would have told me a few months ago that I would be working on four quilts, I would have thought you were crazy. But this is one of the things I love about my life including my crafting life, I never know what tomorrow will bring.
You can find these maedeup bracelets along with a lot of other wonderful things in my Etsy shop. Did you know Mother's Day is just a few weeks away? That's why I am offering 20% off everything in my shop until May 2nd. There are a lot of goodies that would make a wonderful Mother's Day gift.

Noah's 9th Birthday

Our oldest grandson, Noah, turned 9 on the 9th of April. My parents were up for a visit so we had a little party for him at our house over the weekend. It is just amazing to us how fast those nine years flew by.
Even our son, Luke, was able to come over. He just got married last week and we were hoping to introduce Amber to my parents but she was home ill with the flu and morning sickness. You heard that right, we are going to be grandparents again in November.
Noah loved his football from his uncle and it was a beautiful day to play catch in the backyard.
Noah and my mom, his great grandmother.
Ezra showed up as Spiderman and discovered how much fun it is to ring grandma's doorbell.
Rocketman was able to get a photo of all of us. We had a great time!

Sew Busy!

I am in a sewing state of mine. I had a bunch of Korean pouch kits that I had assembled for some bojagi classes I taught a few years ago just sitting in a plastic bin. I decided to stitch and assemble the kits into pouches and I'll use them as gifts and I may also put some in my Etsy store.
I love the fabric which I had bought from Dongdaemum Shopping Center in Seoul. My favorite satin guy went out of business but I was able to find a shop with the same fabric I love. That's one thing I hate and also love about Korea, it is ever changing.

I am also working on a couple of quilts which if you follow me on Instagram, you can see that I've been spending a lot of time at my sewing machine. If that wasn't enough, my folks just arrived for a weeklong visit and then I have a weekend of painting classes. No wonder I've been neglecting this blog. Soon I'll be adding lawn mowing to that list but luckily here in Minnesota that is still out at least a month. We have had snow in May don't cha know:)
